Oil on Wooden Round, 2023

Looking directly toward the eastern horizon over Lyttelton Harbour — where the new day is born and fresh ideas come alive. This painting marks a moment of discovery: the familiar landscape I have seen and painted many times rendered through a new approach. After the dawn light, the harbour’s calm, and the silhouette of landforms remain, but the handling is different — an experiment in style, a gentle shift in technique that let intuition lead. This work captures the quiet promise of morning and my own unfolding of new possibilities.
